AnaKalusugan Party-list Rep. Ray T. Reyes stressed the importance of promoting early consultations to help curb the rising cases of dengue in the country.<\/p>\n

“Malaking bagay po ang proper health-seeking behavior gaya ng pagpunta sa pinakamalapit na health facility pag nakitaan na ng sintomas ng dengue,” Reyes said.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
“Napakaimportante po na ito ay maagapan bago pa ito lumala,” he added.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
The lawmaker cited data from the Department of Health that showed the country logging 51,323 dengue cases from Jan. 1 to May 20 this year.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
This is 30 percent higher than the number of cases reported in the same period last year.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
Reyes, the vice chairman of the House Committee on Health, said that many diseases like dengue can be easily managed if they are discovered at an early stage.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
“This is why we remain focused on providing healthcare access to every Filipino without incurring additional costs,” he added.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
The Solon has filed House Bill No. 430 providing free annual medical checkups for Filipinos.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
The measure aims to establish a program that provides citizens with free annual check-ups including, but not limited to, blood sugar and cholesterol tests.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
