AnaKalusugan Party-list (No. 51) nominee Ray Roquero urged senior citizens and eligible Filipinos to get vaccinated and boosted amid the low uptake for a third dose.
\n\u201cI am calling on all our kababayans, especially our senior citizens who are at greater risk at contracting COVID-19, and those who are eligible, to get vaccinated and boosted as soon as possible. Let us not be complacent and wait for the vaccine efficacy to wane by the second half of the year,\u201d Roquero said.
\nThe AnaKalusugan Party-list (No. 51) nominee noted that only 60 percent of the total senior population in the country have been vaccinated, while only 10.5 million of the 63.6 million fully-vaccinated individuals have received their booster shots.
\nSome 27 million COVID-19 vaccine doses, Roquero said, are expected to expire by the end of July.
\n\u201cThis is not the time to dilly-dally. Let us not let our taxes, which were used to procure these vaccines, go to waste,\u201d he said.
